Well the inevitable has happened. I ended my streak of posting everyday. It wasn’t due to not having anything to write about. This weekend was just a crazy one! From Thursday to Sunday I produced 7 podcast episodes! It was non stop! The plan was only to do maybe 3 episodes on Saturday and then ended up filming Sunday as well. 3 episodes turned into 5. Sunday afternoon was originally only planned out for a shoot with my video mentor Thomas Duran of TD Films. Overall it was a good weekend. I got to meet a bunch of people and there was a lot to take away. Speaking of take aways lets find out what some of my biggest ones from the weekend were.

Mycal Anders and Jason Phillips on the 20 Percenters Podcast

Friday was just the beginning. It was Saturday that really kicked everything off. Mycal Anders (Derz) and I attended the actual event that was going on. It was the IN3 Nutrition certification course. Jason Phillips (In3 owner) let us set up right outside the event to record shows. The first guest we had on the show was CrossFit athlete and In3 Nutrition coach Cassidy Dickson. Cassidy was pretty cool. She took the year off from competition and is focusing on coaching. The next guest we had on was Joe Sheehey. He owns Cured Nutrition. Joe is killin the CBD business. His episode was cool. I related to him a little bit. He talked about his issues with alcohol when he was younger. I have talked about my alcohol experiences on podcasts as well. He gave Derz and I some free product to try. I have some gel caps and then a balm to put on my bum ass shoulder. The best part about all this is I think that cured nutrition is going to be a sponsor for the 20 percenters podcast!

Sunday was a big day. Derz and I had scheduled a shoot with my mentor Thomas. He offered to help me shoot some videos I was going to use for the clickfunnel I will build for Derz. Before this, we ended up shooting two shows back to back early in the morning. Jason offered to jump on an hour before he had to teach the event. He was last on Feed Me Fuel Me back in January. A lot has changed since then for all of us. It is crazy because as different as Jason and I are, I see a ton of similarities. It lets me know I am headed in the right direction. IN3 is about to evolve and with their video guy about to move to Australia I think I may be the one to replace him.

Cassidy Dickson, Joe Sheehey, Adam von-Rothfelder

The last episode of the weekend was with Adam Von-Rothfelder. This guy was cool as fuck! His story is pretty wild! He owns Strong Coffee Company and is also going to be a sponsor for the podcast. This episode was an hour and a half long. After the episode ended, Adam, Derz, and myself had a really awesome conversation. We packed up and then headed to meet up with Thomas. Thomas set up some lighting and I got to see how he did it. I would say lighting is probably the most important thing when shooting an interview. It just can make or break the whole shot. I used to struggle with lighting in school and I recently started messing around with it again. The problem is my lights suck donkey dick. I shoot with pretty minimal gear right now. Thomas was hammering me to make a list of all the shit I need. Last night I made that list and now I can manifest that shit. The shoot went really well and I cant wait to see how it comes out. I am grateful to have a mentor like Thomas because he is really good at what he does and not everyone gets to have someone like that at their fingertips.

We are left with today! Derz invited me with him to a marketing meeting. He hired the marketing group that works with IN3 Nutrition. They are called Smart Marketing. This may end up being the best thing all weekend. It was the first marketing meeting I got to be in and to see how everyone worked together to build the plan was just fuckin awesome. Everyone on the Smart Marketing team is cool as hell. The plan put in place with the 20 percenters podcast and mastermind is going to take it all to the next level. Olivia Hensley is the owner of Smart Marketing. She said she needs video. I am not sure if that meant to be on the team or contracted out. Either way would be pretty damn cool. I will email her tomorrow and get more details. We will see how everything unfolds here in the near future. One of the biggest things I have learned so far on my entrepreneur journey is things change so damn fast day to day. It is hard to look even 30 days ahead. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I trust the universe and I am cool letting it take me wherever it wants me.
